Encouraged to share this word:
Have been encouraged by the Lord to write down that which He has given me as it may be of some help to explain this season we are currently living. Although this message came in early December, seems to have more significance today and releasing it may help others in the body of Christ to make sense out of this coronavirus isolation we are enduring.
Scaffolding in Scripture. The Platform of Bronze
While in worship service at my church, God reminded me of this picture of the U.S. State Capital in Washington D.C. around the end of the Obama Administration. It had scaffolding all around it. The next picture in my mind’s eye was Notre Dame with the scaffolding around it during the fire. The common theme was the scaffolding, so I went to look in the word for the word scaffolding. The scripture that was presented was:
(for Solomon had made a bronze platform five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits height, and had set it in the midst of the court; ad he stood on it, knelt down on his knees before all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven); and he said: “Lord God of Israel, there is no God in heaven or on earth like You, who keep Your covenant and mercy with our servants who walk before You will all their hearts. You have kept what You promised Your servant David my father; You have both spoken with Your mouth and fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day.
Dictionary.com meaning of the word scaffolding include:
1.a temporary structure for holding workers and materials during the erection, repair, or decoration of a building.
2.an elevated platform on which a criminal is executed, usually by hanging
5.a suspended platform that is used by painters, window washers, and others for working on a tall structure, as a skyscraper.
Scaffolding of Bronze: Judgment, Repentance and Birth
The next question impressed on my heart was to look at the use of the scaffolding and its results. Scaffold is a platform used to cut off or remove that which has been damaged and in need of repair and restoration. Pieces need to be replaced, reshaped, remolded and refurbished. To take off the old and replace with the new! Sounds much like a platform where we might go to repent! To take off the sin of unrighteousness and be re-aligned with truth and righteousness. This is the “bronze” platform in 2Chronicles 6:13 above.
The color bronze often biblically reflects coming judgment. In fact, in my research I found that the Hebrew word for snake (Nashash) is almost the same as the word for bronze (Nechesheth). Satan was judged by God in snake form in the Garden of Eden. The laver or the wash basin for sin in the Tabernacle and Temple were made of bronze (Ex.30:18; 38:8). All the utensils for the altar were of bronze (Ex.38:3). Even the pegs for the tabernacle and the court were of bronze (Ex.27:19,38:31). Interesting to note the pegs referred to in Isaiah 54:1-2 again speaks of birth and enlarging the tent to make more room for the children.
Only God’s Work Produces ETERNAL LIFE:
‘They will hand on him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the posterity, all vessels of small quantity, from the cups to all the pitchers. In that day,’ declares the Lord of hosts, ‘the peg fastened in the secure place will be removed and be cutdown and fall, and the burden that was on it will be cut off; for the Lord as spoken.’”
Note all the work being done here of removing, cutting down, cutting off. The “posterity” or children (offspring) all clinging to this man (a father or mother, a man-made theology, pastor, preacher, government etc.) rather than God Himself. When this man’s faith faltered then so did all the children who were trusting him. “…in that day,…the peg fastened in the secure place will be removed.” (Is. 22:25 above). Only faith in Christ alone stands the test of time and is secured for eternity. Man is insufficient for such a task. But one Spirit Filled with Christ who is dependent on Christ’s sacrifice and not their own or on anyone or anything else that would try to exalt itself over the will or knowledge of God (2Cor.10:5)is made secure for eternity. Idolatry or sin must be washed away and removed by Christ’s sacrifice at the cross and received by faith thru the free gift of grace, Jesus! Can look at Jesus as the platform on which the washing away of sin brings new life to a child of God and an inheritance of life forevermore with Christ. An earthly father can leave an inheritance but unless there is a personal heartfelt trust is in the blood of Jesus the inheritance of eternity is lost. Jesus is the platform by which a new heaven and new earth are birthed. God’s plan of salvation is that none would be lost and all would come and receive the saving grace of Christ (Matt.18:14). God is faithful to keep all His promises. Who will you trust on the day of judgment to save you? Who are you tent pegs fastened to?
Justice in the Court for Church and Government for Restoration:
The message I believe God was impressing on my heart back in December 2019 was that this scaffolding/platform around the State House in Washington, D.C. as well as the scaffolding around Notre Dame was warning of this same judgment at hand. A purifying and tearing down or cutting off from the false/corrupt and replacing it with righteousness and truth while bringing justice and ultimately restoration to both the Government and the Church (Isaiah 9:6-7). Looking back at 2Chronicles the bronze platform is in the midst of the “court”. This court is where justice is reckoned out and takes place. Gods court He is the Judge as well as the Attorney for the true believer in Christ.
The Potter and the Clay for Restoration of People:
This scaffolding is also around every person. For those who have already put their trust in Jesus they can know they will be uncomfortable in proportion to the amount of compromise they currently live in daily that is in conflict with the heart of God and His Word. For some when the false is cut off may find they never truly believed in Christ, but no better time to find out what one is trusting in for an eternal inheritance. Like a Potter molding the clay (Isaiah 64:8). God will, if the believer will submit to the molding, expose the places of sin and darkness long unseen or seen but not repented (Luke 6:40; Hebrews 12:11). This is a time of repentance so the child of God might live more abundantly as God prepares and further indwells the believer for the next season on the earth and for the wedding of the Church to the groom Jesus. This is new birth or freedom for the captives. The Government and the Church will also, on this platform of bronze, be exposed and justice brought forth. God is dealing with the oppressor in all these spheres. Governments may be cut down or off as well as Churches. Only God’s perfect judgment knows. For the dependent one on Christ the result will be restoration. For those who choose to go their own way without Christ they have chosen a pathway that will lead to death and hell. The choice will be made very clear as the shaking of the earth through what we now know as the coronavirus, earthquakes, wars and rumors of wars. These are all precursors or foreshadows of the Great Tribulation. Rapture of the church, I believe, comes prior to this Great Tribulation time described in Matt.24:6.
To publish this word is an act of faith and a sharing of my gift to the body of Christ. Please place it before the Lord for your own personal use. But for me I know to be obedient so I must put forth. My hope is that it will bless and cause us to have a hopeful look forward to all the restoration God is causing to come forth through this process of scaffolding repentance. These days of isolation and social/physical distancing are precious in the eyes of the Lord for us to come to him and take the time to evaluate ourselves and our relationship to Him. Precious like the time we have with a loved one before they go to heaven type of precious. Repentance isn’t always pleasant at the time but the results you won’t want to miss! They have eternal consequence!
“But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire And like launderers’ soap. He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the Lord An offering in righteousness.
I will turn my hand against you and thoroughly purge away your dross, and take away all your alloy. I will restore our judges as at the first, and Your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, and the faithful city.”
Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it; For how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My glory to another.
“I ,even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins. Put Me in remembrance; Let us contend together; State your case, that you may be acquitted. Your first father sinned, And your mediators have transgressed against Me.
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead And Christ will give you light.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
1 Peter 1:6
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith – the salvation of your souls.
Matthew 13:17 for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.
You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you These things I command you, that you love one another
