Is the Father calling you?

Are you caught up in the spirit of religion?  What do I mean by that?  Are the rules and regulations of God’s Law, the Ten Commandments just too far out to even contemplate or comprehend in this day and age?  It is completely understandable!  Did you know that the Ten Commandments were given to man so that man could see that these commandments could not be kept by man without the help of God!  They were designed to help man realize that   we would need a Savior to release us from the demands of this Law.

This did not mean that the Law was not good.  The Law is necessary to show the high standards of God and His perfection, His righteousness and His Holiness.  Man could not obtain this standard of holiness without His help.  Man could try to keep the Law and strived to do so in the Old Testament, but they were unable to do so which was the whole point!  I venture to say there are many of us still at times trying to keep those Laws without the help of God and this is why many of us travel a long distance like Jonah away from God instead of to Him.

So if I still have your attention, and we can put the unobtainable goal of keeping the Law, without God, aside for the moment…may I direct your attention to Jesus.  Jesus is God the Father’s Son and the second member of the trinity of God.  God is three people in one; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  (Just as you may be a mother, sister, counselor in your own life circles.) God the Father is Spirit and so we do not see him with our eyes but we sense Him with our spirit.  The Father loves His Son Jesus and Jesus was the person whom God sent to the earth to deliver the message of the Father from heaven to earth.

John 1:17-18 (AMP)

For while the Law was given through Moses, grace (unearned, undeserved favor and spiritual blessing) and truth came through Jesus Christ.  No man has ever seen God at any time; the only unique son, or the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; he has interpreted Him and He has made Him known].

The message was that the Father loves the people Whom He created and wants them to be with Him for eternity.  And whether they live on earth or in heaven they can lean and depend on Him for all their needs for eternity.  And like the good, good, Father He is; He will meet His children wherever they may be, in whatever circumstance they find themselves in, because of His great love for them.

Hebrews 13:5-6

Stay away from the love of money; be satisfied with what you have.  For God has said, “I will never fail you.  I will never forsake you.”  That is why we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will not be afraid.  What can mere mortals do to me?

Being of Spirit (therefore unseen by human eye), the Father sent His Son, Jesus, in a human body to dwell among us …Emmanuel (God with us).

Matthew 1:23

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

John 1:14

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Now many people hear the message of the Father through His Son but still choose not to receive it or Him.  This is the same reaction those filled with God’s spirit today receive each time they deliver the same message of grace  today on earth.  The people murmur and complain to try and defeat this message of grace that comes through Jesus. Bread of Life (See blog post of Feb. 11^th for further information.)The message must be received by faith thru the life and grace of Jesus.  All that is required is belief.  The offer is from the Father who is spirit and delivered by Jesus His Son in the flesh.

So this Father who created all mankind is putting out the invitation to His people that through belief in His Son and His message of love for all mankind and the remission of sin, they are fully accepted by God to be his children.  Although they may be born of men through birth…once born they are free to choose to belong to God’s family.  Although God made man with the ability to give birth on earth He gives them choice for life in eternity with Him.

John 1:12

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 6:40

And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the son and believes in Him may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up oat the last day.

 The Father wants to be freely loved by His people so that He can proudly say, He is their God and we are His people.

Ezekiel 37:23

They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols, nor with their destestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but i will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them.  Then they shall be My people and i will be their God.

This happens when we choose to believe that Jesus went to the cross to finish the work man could not do on his own.  Man could not keep those holy pristine standards that God gave to Moses in the form of the Law in the Ten Commandments!  Man needed Jesus to fulfill those Ten Commandments on their behalf so that they could be made holy like God and have communion with their holy, perfectly righteous and just, Father and God.

So the moment one of His people respond with belief in Jesus they receive the Father’s Righteousness and are made holy in spirit.  They now are justified by Jesus who knew no sin to become the sin sacrifice so that they have no need of their own righteousness but take on His righteousness, His holiness, His character as a full-fledged member of the family of Jesus Christ.  Jesus, in their place, declares them justified…free of sin which He died to secure for us!  His blood shed for our sins past, present and future so that our everlasting lives are secured and our place with our Father settled once and for all!

Just as our parents on earth teach us and help us to grow up to be able to do things on our own.  The Ten Commandments were also given as a tutor to help man to see that without God he would not be able to fulfill the holy, perfect, Law of God.  But once we no longer need the tutor we are free then to live and choose freely how we will live.  It is by faith in Jesus that we are received by the Father and into our inheritance in Him.

Galatians 3:23-25

But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed.  Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.  But after faith has come we no longer under a tutor.

Those who believe in Christ for the remission of their sins are no longer under the Law!  The law could not save and only brought death and condemnation on man.

Galatians 2:16

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

Jesus came that He might fulfill the law in your place!

Matthew 5:17

Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.  For assuredly, I say to you , till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

 When you put your faith in Him it is a done deal!  Sign, Sealed and delivered by His blood shed on the cross for your sin.  No more condemnation, no more guilt and shame.  No more trying to keep the law with no avail.  This is all nailed to the cross with Jesus.  His body broken for yours!  I know I live even today sometimes with that law trying to nail down my liberty and freedom in Christ.  Because it is by faith and not a work of man we have to lift up our shields of faith grounded and founded in Christ, daily, to quiet the raging rivers of lies that come from the Accuser (devil) of the brethren.

We will still sin on earth but we have and Advocate Jesus who has already declared us free of guilt and shame from all sin.  So when we sin we only go to Him and repent or turn around from the wrong and we are cleaned by the blood of Christ to choose to live clean and godly lives in Him and with His help!

So is your Father calling you?  Have you ever heard His voice of grace thru His Son Jesus?  Have you heard other messages about God that are cluttering the message of truth and grace?  Have you been trapped in Law when grace has already set you free?  I hope you have heard the message of your Father’s love for you.  A love that sacrificed His own Son so that you could spend eternity with the Father who loves you like no other!  It cost the Father His Son whom He loves to set you free and offer you everlasting life.  Will you receive Him?

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your sacrifice in my place.  Thank You for bridging the gap between the sin of man and the holiness of our Father who loves us and has made a way for us to be in His love for eternity.  Holy Spirit come and breathe Your breath to blow away all fear, doubt and confusion off this sweet message of grace, peace and truth through Jesus.  May you make a way where there is none and may the truth of Your message set us free. Set free all You are calling to come and rest their hearts, minds and souls in You.  Thank You for Your blood shed at the cross and Your body broken so that all our sin is forgiven and cast into the sea, past present and future.  I believe in You Jesus.  Thank You for everlasting life!  In Jesus Blessed Name Above all Names.  Amen.
