Have you Heard?

Have You Not Heard?

Isaiah 40:21 (NKJ)

Have you not known Have you not heard?  Has it not been told you from the beginning?

Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?

It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,

Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

He brings the princes to nothing; He makes the judges of the earth useless.

Comfort When World Spinning

When the world seems to be spinning out of control ….this picture of God who sits above the circle of the earth is very comforting.  He sees His people on the earth for He created each one for His good pleasure (Phil. 2:13) and created the perfectly balanced environment on earth for His people to dwell on.  He sees the nations, princes and judges and still He is over them all.

WHO IS GOD?

Who is God?   When you need advice on something or need to be taught something new, you go to someone who has more knowledge or experience in that area.  God is the source of all knowledge, understanding and wisdom.  It all begins and ends with Him alone!  The world counts success by what we “do”.  Compare this to what God does….

Isaiah 40:12-14 (NKJ)

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand,

Measured heaven with a span

And calculated the dust of the earth in a measure?

Weighed the mountains in scales

And the hills in a balance?

Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord,

Or as his counselor has taught Him?  With whom did He take counsel, and who instructed him,

And taught Him in the path of justice?

Who taught Him knowledge,

And showed him the way of understanding?

GOD is GOD!

Clearly God is God and we are not!  Do you know?  Have you heard about the extravagant generosity of God and His deep, deep, deep wisdom?

Romans 11:33-36 (Message Translation)

Have you ever come on anything quite like this extravagant generosity of God, this deep, deep wisdom?  It’s way over our heads.  We’ll never figure it out.

Is there anyone around who can explain God?

Anyone smart enough to tell Him what to do?

Anyone who has done Him such a huge favor that God has to ask his advice?

Everything comes from Him;

Everything happens through Him;

Everything ends up in Him

Always glory! Always praise! Yes. Yes. Yes

God Understands

He understands that sometimes He seems well beyond our knowing :

Isaiah 55:8-9

For My thoughts are not your thoughts

Nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

So are My ways higher than your ways

And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Yet still he reaches out daily to a world that is often in opposition to Him for no other reason than duplicity, delusion or deception of Who He really is.  God knows the enemy of our souls is constantly trying to get us to take the bait, swallow the pill, and doubt that God is God and He is good.  He has created all and wants relationship with all because He loves whom He has created.  Satan has been trying to make Him look not so big, not so great right and not so good, from the beginning!

Through the eyes of Eve, who gobbled up the twisting of God’s word from Satan, which then allowed all mankind to suffer the consequences of sin.  To this day we still fight the battle.  But for those who have received the finished work of Jesus at the Cross ….these battles belong to the Lord and we expect to conquer and win because He lives inside of us!  We trust His grace, His knowledge, His understanding, His wisdom, His Son Jesus’ sacrifice for us to overcome all that we like sheep are sometimes helpless to see and hear in our limited beings.

Fear of the Lord

We receive “the fear of the Lord” not of “fear” but of reverence for Who He is and what He has accomplished for us!

Proverbs 9:10

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

GOD LOVES ALL!

He forgives our sin of the past, present and future because God the Father sent God the Son by the Holy Spirit to sacrifice Himself on our behalf.  A God who knows all, is in all and loves all!

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Ephesians 3:9

And to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ;

Ephesians 4

One God and Father of all, who is above all and through all, and in you all.

So if today you are a believer and know not what to pray or how to ask for that which you need and are having trouble sorting out that which is going on around you….know this!

Romans 8:26-27

Likewise the spirit also helps in our weaknesses.  For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.  Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

God knows the beginning from the end of all things.

Isaiah 46:10

Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure’,

GOD IS FAITHFUL!

Trust Him! Press into Him!  Lean on Him!  Depend on Him and His wisdom when yours is under attack or confused.  He is faithful!

1 Corinthians 1:9

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

We praise you God!

Isaiah 25:1

O Lord, You are my God.  I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth!

Do you know God?  Do you want to receive Him.  Know this…

1John 8-9

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is no in us.  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Praying…..

Lord Jesus I receive your sacrifice at the cross for me so that my sins may be taken away from me as far as the East is from the West.  I confess my sin before You and now receive Your forgiveness .  Anywhere and anytime I have done what was evil in your sight.  Take this from me and replace it now with your righteousness, peace and eternal life in Christ Jesus.  I trust You to lead me, and guide me, protect me and bring me onto my eternal inheritance in Christ.  I will read Your Word and follow it for my life.  Thank You Jesus for going to the cross that I may receive new life in You and the gift of eternal life.

Amen. Amen. and Halleluiah!
